Structure, synthesis, properties (physical and chemical) of amino acids. Nomenclature of peptides. Synthesis and determination of the primary structure of peptides.

Carbohydrates

Structure and reactions of monosaccharides and their derivatives, disaccharides and industrially important carbohydrates.

Nucleic acids

Structure and synthesis of nucleic acids

Pesticides

Classification of pesticides and toxicity of pesticides. Synthesis, metabolism and biochemical action of selected pesticides. Residue analysis of pesticides in the environment.
