>< Objectives :
At the end of course, students will gain basic IT working
skills required for experimental data analysis and preparation of scientific
reports.
>< Course Content :
Introduction to computer fundamentals;
Word processing for scientific report preparation; Using Graphic Packages for
the preparation of scientific graphs; Data Analysis, Linear regression and Error
Calculation on Spread Sheets; Physics related Problem Solving and Simulations
of Physical phenomenon. Awareness of E-mail and internet.
>< Methodology :
Awareness lectures will be given at the beginning. Students
are expected to develop skills by hands-on experience with the guidance and
assistance throughout the course.
>< Scheme of Evaluation : Continuous Assignments,
Programming Project.
>< Note: PHYS 13052
is offered at the third year for Physics (Special) Degree Part I Students. This
unit runs throughout the year.
