>< Objectives : At the end of the course unit the students will be able to demonstrate the knowledge and understanding of
• the techniques used in disease diagnosis,
• the clinical application of serological techniques.
>< Course content :

Laboratory exercises to illustrate the contents and special features emphasized in lecture course in Medical & Veterinary microbiology. Bacteria of the skin, Bacteria of the mouth, Bacteria of the respiratory tract, Chemical methods of control: Disinfectants and Antiseptics, Action of Antibiotics and dyes. Immunological techniques used in disease diagnosis- Blood Test, Agglutination Reaction, Tube Agglutination, Compliment fixation, ELISA.

>< Methodology : Laboratory practical and demonstration classes.
>< Scheme of Evaluation : End of course examination.
