Objectives : At the end of the course unit the students will be able to demonstrate the knowledge and understanding of
the techniques used in disease diagnosis,
the clinical application of serological techniques.

Course content :

Laboratory exercises to illustrate the contents and special features emphasized in lecture course in Medical & Veterinary microbiology. Bacteria of the skin, Bacteria of the mouth, Bacteria of the respiratory tract, Chemical methods of control: Disinfectants and Antiseptics, Action of Antibiotics and dyes. Immunological techniques used in disease diagnosis- Blood Test, Agglutination Reaction, Tube Agglutination, Compliment fixation, ELISA.
