Thermodynamics

First law of thermodynamics, thermochemistry, second law of thermodynamics, free energy functions, Maxwell relations and chemical potentials.

Chemical kinetics

Rate expressions, methods of studying reaction rates, order of reactions, reaction mechanisms: rate-determining step approximation, steady-state approximation, temperature dependence of reaction rates, chain reactions, fast reactions and catalysis.

Electrochemistry

Electrolytic conductance, Debye-Huckel-Onsagar theory of electrolytic conductance, ion-ion interaction and activity coefficients, electrode potentials and electrochemical cells, metal corrosion and eletrolysis.
