>< Objectives : At the end of this unit the student will be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the technology available for web-based application design and e-commerce applications.

Principles of multimedia document management, Hypertext, Hypermedia, distributed multimedia, web designing tools, HTML, creation of web sites, Adding multimedia features, Aspects of maintaining websites, security features. E-commerce; Overview of e-commerce applications, web enabled systems, Legal and regulatory aspects of e-commerce, new trends and implications of e-commerce applications.

Practical sessions : using HTML, FrontPage or any other suitable software.

>< Methodology : A combination of lectures, tutorials and practical sessions.
>< Scheme of Evaluation : End of semester examination, assignments and practical examination

Due to the rapid changes in the subject area, reading that is relevant to software and technologies used will be recommended at the beginning of the course.
