IMMG 22072
>< Title :
Industrial Training
>< Type/Status : Core Course
>< Teaching and learning objectives:
The objective of Industrial Training is to expose and
insight into the application of management concepts in organizational contexts.
Training opportunity provides an arena for students to relate themselves to
industry, develop relationships, and gain direct experience in organizational
management.
On successful completion of training, students will be able to relate concepts
learned in the class to organizational and environmental management, identify
the issues in making concepts operational, and acquire skills in resolving these
issues
>< Methodology:
Second year students are placed in reputed government
and private sector organisations for a training period of about 3 months. At
the end of the training the students must submit a written report relating to
their training (explaining their responsibilities, how they engaged in their
training, assignments completed). Further, at the end of the training each student
has to make a presentation, which will be assessed by the supervisor (from the
training place) together with a panel of the DIM teaching staff. In addition,
it is expected that the students identify a suitable industrial problem in the
respective companies that could be used as the basis for their final year project.
