Separation of organic compounds
in a mixture, identification of components by preparation of derivatives and
using spectroscopic data. Multi step synthesis of organic compounds. Chemical
studies on amino acids and carbohydrates. Extraction and separation of natural
products using chromatographic techniques.
>< Process : Two
laboratory classes per week each of 7 hour duration for 6 weeks.
>< Scheme of Evaluation : Continuous
assessment and end of course examination.
