This course focuses on using operations function in building
organizational competitiveness and introduces practical tools for achieving
organizational goals.
On successful completion of this course, students will be able to apply various
techniques studied in class for enhancing organizational competitiveness

Operations/Manufacturing strategy
and competitiveness, Job design. Work Study, Productivity and performance measurement,
Total Quality Management (TQM), International Standards on Quality, Quality
awards, Materials planning and control, Production control, Dependent demand
inventory models, MRP, MRPII, Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP), advanced
schedulers, Optimized Production Technology, Supply Chain Management, Modeling
and Simulation in operations management. Software for Operations Management,
issues of computerization.

The course will be delivered in a combination of lectures
and case analysis.
